NH 2011 Fall RW - Lunch at Pacifico
Address: 220 College Street, New Haven, CT 06511
Website: http://www.pacificorestaurants.com/home-nh
Here was my 1st stop of 2011 Fall New Haven Restaurant week. Pacifico is one of my favorite places in New Haven and I went there for a Sunday lunch with Sahr. This place serves really good seafood in town, and I've come here many times.
Here, you always start with their complimentary bread (not the usually dinner roll you see in other places) and some tomato + pepper dipping. It was pretty delicious.

Philly Brunch at Sabrina's cafe
Address: 910 Christian St, Philadelphia, PA 19147
Neighborhood: Bella Vista

Finally I caught up on my Philly trip. RCSIII and I visited Kate at Philly, and that was so much fun! (We also walked 10.3 miles in one day!!!) So we felt that we could eat whatever we want! So we decided to have some crazy brunch!
This place is POPULAR!!! If you've come here before, then you'll know that you can call ahead to shorten your waiting time. Unfortunately, we didn't know that and waited ~50 min. However, it wasn't too bad since the weather was great and RCSIII and I didn't see Kate for a while, so we had a lot to talk about. Perhaps since we waited for a while and we all were starving, I only too 3 pictures after our food were served and we all just dug in right away.
When you are here, you should never miss out their crazily huge stuffed French Toast!!! Seriously, they are super think and big!!! (see picture above!) And it was stuffed with cream cheese and pecan with peach honey on top (oh, and some fresh strawberry on the side...but not too much though).

Boston Brunch at Cafe Luna
Address:403 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139
Neighborhood: Central Square
Website:http://cafeluna-centralsq.com/
BRUNCH TIME!!!
Of course! Brunch is a MUST when you visit another city and right before you're about to drive 3 or more hours to go home.
I decided to come here since the location is really convenient and it got lots of great reviews.
I went for the weekend brunch special, lobster Benedict and shared with RCSIII. It would be really good if both of the poached eggs were done right. I had one of them and it was great! The yolk oozed out and all delicious with huge chucks of lobster and grilled asparagus. The one that RCSIII had was delicious also with all that except the egg was way too cooked. The egg yolk was completely solidified, and that was a bit disappointing.

Taipei Lunch at 潮桂 鐵板燒 Tepenyaki (hibashi) Tasting Menu
Address:台北市敦化南路一段200號(忠孝東路口, Taipei, TAIWAN)
Website:http://www.parentsrestaurant.com.tw/cate.html
I've never had hibashi/tepenyaki dining experience in the US, but according to my friends, the chef just had to interact with the dinners. I am not sure I will enjoy that. However, when you go to such restaurant in Taiwan, you never have to worry about that. Chef only prepares your food and asked you about how do you like to done or any additional seasoning. Other than that, you can still talk to your friends.
In this restaurant, my mom and I had our appetizers, soups, and main courses at the tepenyaki grill table and dessert, coffee and fruits in a seperate dining area.

Dinner at 德壽司 (Japanese Sushi Bar)
Address:100台北市大安區市民大道四段136之3號 ( Taipei, TAIWAN)
Phone: (02) 8772 7995 (no website.)
Oh Man! I haven't updated the blog for so long. I have been really busy with school and job searching. Plus, I was recovering from wisdom tooth surgery and that prevent me from eating real food (oh, so sad.) Thanks to my generous sister, she treated me to this sushi bar after my final dental appointment for wisdon tooth. This place is so good that I had to skipped my Boston trip with RCSIII and write about this first. (I'll go back to the 2 great place I went with RCSIII later.)
This sushi bar is in Taipei, TAIWAN. My sister ordered ~$45 sushi set for my mom. This include 握り寿司10貫 (sushi *10),熱物 (hot side dish, usually grilled fish), 生魚片(Sashimi), 丼飯 (small rice dish), 海鮮沙拉(seafood Salad), 湯 (soup), 甜點/水果 (dessert/fruit). My sister and I both ordered ~$35 德定食 (德 set), which include 握り寿司10貫 (sushi *10), 海鮮沙拉(seafood Salad), 湯 (soup), 甜點/水果 (dessert/fruit). My sister ordered my brother in law ~$29 琳定食 (琳 set), which includes 握り寿司8貫 (sushi *8), 海鮮沙拉(seafood Salad), 湯 (soup), 甜點/水果 (dessert/fruit).
The sushi you'll be getting depends on the fresh seafood that the chef purchased earlier that day and the menu changes daily. Unless there's something you don't eat, otherwise, the chef will decided what to serve you.
No matter what set we ordered, they all came with seafood salad but the contents are a bit different. My mom's most expensive set includes additional scallop while others only have octopus and crab meat. The dressing was really light and full of Japanese flavors and the portion was apporate (not too big, not too small).

Reno Brunch at Peg's Glorified Ham N Eggs
Address:420 S Sierra St, Reno, NV 89501
http://pegsglorifiedhamneggs.com/default.aspx
YES YES YES!!! Vacation Vacation Vacation!!! YAY!!! Get out of New Haven!!!
For Tim and Heather's wedding, we bought the tickets months ago to go to Reno (NV) !!!
And I was so looking forward to this trip! This was my first to go to NV (oh..I've never been to Vegas...) and of course first time to Reno. So, going to a new city means to check out some local good restaurants!
Elissa and I both checked out brunch places at Reno and decided on one. And they happened to be the same one -- Peg's. Well, the pictures other people posted online were just too crazy; the portion was so huge and many of their dishes were served on big skillets that we just have to go and check it out ourselves.
Reno was so bloody hot and we walked here from our casino hotel, which took us ~40 mins. We arrived ~10:00AM and were seated immediately, however, this place is pretty full already (and people keep coming in!).
They quickly served us coffee, and keep refilling our cups until we got our food and until we finished our food. They came so often that we always have some coffee in our cups.
Everyone ordered the skillet breakfast, except me (oh well...), I can always try RCSIII' s anyway.
So Steve & Suv ordered 2 eggs ( I forgot what styled they requested) skillet breakfast, which came with beans, hash brown, cole slaw, selsa and a piece of fruit.
